Shahril Anas Hasan Aziz

Shahril Anas Hasan Aziz began his tenure at Malaysia Venture Capital Management Berhad (MAVCAP) in 2015 and holds the position of Chief Executive Officer.
With over 25 years of experience in the investment industry and extensive expertise in investment and fundraising, he plays an instrumental role in collaborating with foreign partners and corporate partners to create VC funds, known as the Strategic Funds model, and generating more funds in the ecosystem. His contributions have helped elevate MAVCAP to becoming the largest Government-owned entity with a total portfolio value of approximately RM5 billion in funds between MAVCAP and private sector partners, both domestic and foreign.
Through VC funds created with partners via the Strategic Funds model, Shahril continues to be actively involved in nurturing start-up companies in the ICT industry as well as other high-growth industries such as Internet of Things, ecommerce and fintech.
Prior to joining MAVCAP, he has worked with the Employees Provident Fund, Malaysia Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) and Unit Peneraju Bumiputera (TERAJU), among others. He is a graduate of the International Islamic University, Kuala Lumpur with a Bachelor of Economics (Hons).
