Ruswati Othman
Independent Non-Executive Director
Ruswati’s career spans over 30 years, mainly in Malakoff Corporation Berhad, an independent power producer. She was formerly the Chief Strategy and Investment Officer and the Chief Financial Officer of the company.
Her experience covers areas in accounting and finance, corporate finance (including the privatisation and the company’s initial public offering exercise) project finance, project development, investments, mergers and acquisitions, risk management, investor relations and business strategy. In addition, she was responsible for the development of Malakoff’s sustainability framework and the preparation of Integrated Reporting for the company.
Ruswati was a non-independent board member on boards within the Malakoff Group of companies, including an Audit Committee and Board member for Muscat City Desalination Company, (a listed company in Oman), Hidd Power Company in Bahrain, Malakoff Australia Pty Ltd in Australia and various other Malakoff’s Malaysian subsidiaries and associates.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Chemistry from University of Bradford, England, a Master’s degree in Business Administration (majoring in Accounting and Finance) from University of Massachusetts, and Advance Management Program at Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania.
