Shaik Taufik Shaik Yusoff began his tenure as Senior Vice President of Malaysia Venture Capital Management Bhd (MAVCAP) in early 2008. The appointment follows his years of professional involvement in the banking industry, capital market and the local venture capital industry.

At MAVCAP, his key area of focus is to manage the Company's Outsource Partners Programme (OSP), to spur the growth of local venture capital players and in turn develop the Malaysian venture capital industry. This responsibility includes the establishment and organization of funds to finance different phases of the OSP. Beyond the selection of partners, he guides the OSP recipients in determining and implementing strategic decisions which impact their business investments. He also assists partners in evaluating and vetting high-potential ventures seeking funding.

Shaik Taufik began to build a career in the venture capital industry since the late 90s. He was previously a member of the Senior Management team of the Investment Division at the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation. He then assumed the post of Chief Executive Officer of MIDF Amanah Ventures. While there, he managed several high level private equity and venture capital portfolios.

He also has a wealth of experience in assisting corporations in preparing for and undertaking corporate restructuring, acquisitions, valuation, fund raising and listing. He has provided counsel on corporate related matters to the top management of companies such as Khazanah Nasional Berhad, DRB Hicom Berhad, MARA Holding and various other companies, some of which are listed. Having served as the nominated director in several of these companies, which are involved in diverse business sectors, has lent him a valuable scope of experience to benefit him in his current role at MAVCAP.

Shaik Taufik earned his Bachelor in Accounting & Finance from John Moores University in Liverpool, England in 1992.
