Amir has more than 15 year's operations, sales and marketing experience in the IT industry in Malaysia and around the Asian region. His area of specialization is in networking, data communications and telecommunications.

Until recently, Amir was running his own business providing preventive maintenance for gas pipeline. Prior to that, Amir was the Managing Director for ASEAN, Middle East and India at Haliplex Communication Systems. Formed in 1999 in Melbourne, Haliplex Communication Systems is a leading manufacturer of next generation edge access and multiplexing solutions for service provider, private fiber and fixed wireless networks. At Haliplex, Amir is responsible for the overall Sales, Marketing and Business Operation Management for the territories he covered.

In 2000, Amir joined Top Layer Networks, a Massachusetts based company specializing in Network Security as their Managing Director for South Asia. At Top Layer, Amir was responsible for managing sales and marketing operations for the entire South Asia region, while overseeing the Malaysian operations.

In 1999, Amir was the Regional Manager of Marconi Communications (formerly known as Fore Systems) where he successfully lead the company's marketing and channels strategy for Malaysia and Indonesia for the company's high-end networking products and solutions.

He has also held positions as the South Asia Business Development Manager for Aspect Telecommunications, a San Jose based company, specializing in Call Centre solutions, where he was responsible for developing the OEM channel business.

Amir started his career as a Computer Science lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai in 1988 and then joined Petronas, where he was responsible for the planning and design of Petronet Petronas fully-fault tolerant Wide Area Network. Amir then joined Chipcom, a Data Communication company and became its Country Manager for Malaysia and Indonesia. When 3Com, Inc. acquired Chipcom, he took on a regional role as 3Com Asia's Business Development Manager for South Asia.

Amir holds a Master of Science from the Central Michigan University, U.S.A. and a Bachelor of Science, from University of Wisconsin, U.S.A. both in Computer Science.
