The best first step for prospective target clients is to e-mail your business plan or summary to investment@mavcap.com. We review all materials sent to us, and will contact you if we are interested in receiving a complete business plan or meeting with you for an initial discussion.

Once it is determined that we are interested in your proposal, we will arrange a meeting with your management team.
Here we will explore further:

1. the strengths of the team
2. competitiveness of the product or service offerings
3. the readiness of the targeted markets
4. if the chemistry between our organisations will enable us to work together as partners over a number of years.
   
   

Assuming continued mutual interest, we will proceed with an extensive evaluation of the industry, the operating and financial assumptions and, most importantly, the management. This due diligence process involves MAVCAP professionals and includes contacts with key information sources such as industry experts, former employers, outside consultants, suppliers and customers. It may also involve external advisors.

Once we have made a decision to invest, we will either assume the lead investor role and submit a terms sheet, or we will work together with the lead investor.

Issue of terms sheet will be followed by legal investment documentation and closing when the money invested will be disbursed.

Typically, the whole process from making initial contact to commitment to invest will take about 8 weeks.
