As the President and Chief Executive Officer of MIMOS Berhad since July 2006, Dato' Abdul Wahab holds an important portfolio in realising MIMOS' vision and mission to be a premier applied research centre in frontier technologies and to pioneer innovative information and communication technologies towards growing globally competitive indigenous industries.

Under Dato' Wahab's leadership, MIMOS has undergone various significant initiatives including a successful corporate restructuring with the emphasis on human capital and technology development. Among the initiatives introduced were the SATRIA Leadership Core Values and the application of strategic and best process methodologies such as Six Sigma, CMMI and PCMM. In the last four years, MIMOS has achieved notable successes including being recognised as the only Malaysian patent applicant ranked in the top 1000 Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applicants list at the 186th place in 2009.To date, MIMOS has developed 21 technology platforms and transferred it technology platforms to 11 local companies.

In his previous career in Motorola, Dato' Wahab became the first local who went on to take over the R&D management from the American Expatriate Management in 1993. Dato' Wahab's last position in Motorola was as Senior Director of Wireless Communication R&D Operation for Asia Pacific for the Commercial, Public and Industry Sector.

Dato' Wahab received his tertiary education at the University of Malaya under a Motorola Malaysia Scholarship. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree (Honours) in Electric and Electronics.
